OEN Angel Oregon 2017
In February 2017 when Lulu was a combination of what is now our first and third product series, the first being Lululox, we competed in OEN's Angel Oregon. We performed well and this is where we met our future interviewer Res Nova Law.
PitchfestNW at TechfestNW
Before the Founding of the company we competed in a global pitch competition. Our founder meet the director on an elevator and gave an elevator pitch. That is how we got in. Elevator pitches work everyone! Our team was also formed around this event as well.
Interview with Res Nova Law
In July we had the honor of taking part of a small business spotlight at Res Nova Law. In the interview we explained what we stand for and our intent to become a social enterprise. We believe in the power of economics and entrepreneurship to transform and create better communities. The bicycle represents everything we stand for, community economic growth, green energy, and sustainable transportation.
Incubator at Interbike 2017
We were selected as one of four startup companies to participate in the Incubator program at Interbike, North America's largest bicycle trade show. It is here where we gained international exposure and validation. We have the product, the market, and with an accelerator that has understands what it takes to scale internationally and has the ability to help us in that end, we would have what we need to get to market.
Auditions for Elevator Pitch Season 2
In October, Entrepreneur reached out to us with an invitation to audition for their TV show "Elevator Pitch". We performed well but did not make the TV show. However, we will be back so don't be surprised if you see us on TV in 2019!
In early March it became clear that we had a valid market to penetrate and a final design of a product from which to launch. Interbike proved that Lululox has tremendous potential if done correctly and since this is our founder's first company, we decided to get into a program designed to help identify our product market fit and validate our hypothesizes through primary research. Now that that has been completed, our next step is to take the steps necessary to ramp up to initial sales. We are currently conducting beta testing with our early adopters and that is to conclude by the end of July 2018. From there we will be in position to operationalize our business and proceed with sales. As previously stated, we are currently seeking to join an accelerator with a program with the intent of going to market during or by the end of the program. Per the agreement with the Incubator program at Interbike, we will be launching a Kickstarter campaign as our go-to-market platform.
Interbike - The Proving Ground
We are once once again exhibiting at Interbike this year. Thanks to our amazing engineer our technology turned out to so versatile we have pivoted to become a physical security company. A shout out to our amazing booth worker who helped us at the event. You know who you are. Thanks to our booth attendant we have raised our first first round at the World Startup Factory. We are headed for Nederland!
Sustainable Cities Accelerator
Having the foresight to see us as a physical security company before we had even figured that out ourselves we are honored to have been admitted into the 4th cohort of the Sustainability Accelerator. We will be working alongside them to take our bike products to market and to launch LuluLox as a new technology.
New Business Summit 2019
At our breakout session, we will be having a round table discussion with the various municipalities, private enterprises, and knowledge institutions throughout Nederland to converse on the topic of physical security in relation to lock & mechanical security devices for the purpose of mobility and lock companies.
